Win Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards: 2017!

– One Capcom title receives award in the Future Division: Monster Hunter: World

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) were awarded the Award for Excellence in the Games of the Year Division of the Japan Game Awards: 2017 (held by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association). The prizes were announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2017, which was held from September 21-24. Additionally, one Capcom title, Monster Hunter: World, was recognized in the Future Division Awards.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard, winner of the Award for Excellence, is the latest title in the series and builds upon the series’ roots of fear, exploration and tense atmosphere. The full game is also available to play via the included optional PlayStation®VR Mode for the PlayStation®4 version. By incorporating broadly scoped innovations and refocusing on horror, the title earned numerous high-scoring reviews from around the globe and garnered attention from fans who also highly praised the game, leading it to exceed 3.7 million units shipped as of June 30, 2017.
Regarding Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross), in addition to maintaining the gameplay and world that the series is known for, as well as Hunting Styles, Hunter Arts and other new elements introduced in the previous installment, the game introduced more content, including a new main monster, garnering praise from both new-comers as well as fans of the series alike.

In the Future Division, where players vote to select the upcoming titles they most look forward to, one Capcom title received an award: Monster Hunter: World. This title was very popular among show attendees, boasting long lines at the booth where people could play the demo version.
