Capcom Wins Award in the Corporate HR Category in Japan Human Resources’ HR Awards 2024 !
– Award recognizes the company’s efforts to create organizational foundation
through team-wide initiatives as part of its HR investment strategy –
Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that the company has won an award in the Corporate HR category in Japan Human Resources’ HR Awards 2024, an awards program run by HR Vision Co., Ltd.
HR Awards is a system that recognizes organizations that continuously carry out innovative activities and take on new challenges in the field of HR. Awards are determined through a process of selection and voting by members of the community site Japan Human Resources, who include corporate human resources professionals, executives and managers. Following the announcement of winners, recipients of the grand prize and award for excellence will be announced in September after voting by regular members of Japan Human Resources and the final picks by the selection committee.
In recent years, larger-scale and longer-term game development brought on by business expansion has presented Capcom with issues such as preparing new recruits and younger employees to contribute to the organization more quickly while establishing a sustainable training system for those same employees. To relieve managers of the burden of talent development and building an organizational development foundation and culture, the company introduced a mentor training program for its developers in 2022. In addition, the company took into practice a "participatory people management" approach that emphasizes dialogue in the workplace. A total of 900 members of Capcom game development have participated in this initiative as of today.
Through these ongoing efforts, the company fostered a culture of achievement through teamwork and proactive self-improvement that new graduates also took part in, and deepened mutual understanding between managers and team members through training that emphasizes dialogue. As a result, the company has seen accelerated growth for creators and better manager development. Furthermore, implementing these activities across multiple departments has reduced training burdens for managers, helping to establish a system where developers can focus on creative tasks.
Currently, HR Awards 2024 is in the candidate selection period for the grand prize and award for excellence. Voting is open from Tuesday, July 16 until Monday, August 5. We appreciate your participation in the voting process.
