Capcom’s “Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G” Wins Award of Excellence
at the Japan Game Awards 2012

  • 3 titles including “Resident Evil 6” and “Monster Hunter 4” receive awards in the Future Division –

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is proud to announce that “Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G” has won a Award of Excellence in the Game of the Year Division at the Japan Game Awards 2012 (hosted by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association). The awards were presented at the Tokyo Game Show 2012 that took place from September 20 to 23. In addition, 3 Capcom titles, including “Resident Evil 6” and “Monster Hunter 4” were selected for awards in the Future Division.

“Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G”, which won Award of Excellence offers many features based on the primary strength of this game series: bringing together many people to enjoy the excitement of playing the game together. To utilize the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS™, the game produces three-dimensional images with greater depth and allows players to customize the touch screen for smoother operations. Players can also enjoy the extremely challenging G-rank quest as well as monsters that appear for the first time in the “Monster Hunter” series. With these and other features, “Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G” has become popular among a broad range of people.

In the Future Division, users vote to select upcoming titles with the highest expectations. In this division, 3 Capcom games received awards: “Resident Evil 6”, “Monster Hunter 4” and “Ace Attorney 5” (working title). “Resident Evil 6” features the first joint appearance by Leon and Chris, the two main characters of this game series. In addition, “Resident Evil 6” has expanded online play capabilities with cooperative and crossover systems, upgraded action and other features that make this the best title in the series yet. Sales are scheduled to begin on October 4, 2012. Capcom’s other Future Division winners as well generated enormous interest among customers with long lines at the Tokyo Game Show.
