“Monster Hunter Tri” Wins Award for Excellence;
“Monster Hunter Freedom 3”
Selected for the Future Division at Japan Game Awards!

  • “Monster Hunter” Series Scores a Double at Awards Show –

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is proud to announce that “Monster Hunter Tri” received an Award for Excellence and “Monster Hunter Freedom 3” was selected for the Future Division at the Japan Game Awards 2010 (hosted by Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association), presented at the Tokyo Game Show 2010 held from September 16th to the 19th.

“Monster Hunter Tri”, which recieved the Award of Excellence, was released in August 2009. Building upon the experience of the “Monster Hunter” series, new ideas and features such as being able to hunt underwater give players a broader sense of the “Monster Hunter” world as well as a heightened sense of realism. In utilizing the Wii’s online functionality and featuring an offline two player arena combat mode through split-screen, “Monster Hunter Tri” was an excellent addition to the platform.

“Monster Hunter Freedom 3” was also nominated by attendees at the Tokyo Game Show to the Future Division, an award given to games that players are most looking forward to. At the event, over 100 units were prepared with numbered tickets for players to get some hands-on time with the game. The demand for these setups was overwhelming, as the booth was incredibly popular. We are very thankful to our fans who have chosen “Monster Hunter Freedom 3” as a game they are looking forward to, and we will do our best to meet and exceed the players expectations.

We here at Capcom will continue to push our development abilities to their full potential in order to create original games that our fans will be sure to enjoy.
