Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that the Street Fighter 6 tournament held at EVO Japan 2026 presented by Levtech (EVO Japan 2026, below), one of the world’s largest fighting game tournaments, held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 1 to May 3, was officially recognized by Guinness World Records™ as the "Largest tournament for a single fighting video game."

EVO Japan 2026 showcased the global reach of competitive fighting games, attracting approximately 34,000 visitors over the three-day event and a cumulative total of 9,717 players from 71 countries and regions. In this tournament, 7,168 players participated in the competition featuring Capcom’s fighting game Street Fighter 6, setting a world record for the largest number of participants in a tournament for a single game title.

Since its release in 2023, Street Fighter 6 has surpassed 6 million* units in cumulative global sales. The title introduced the Modern control type, which allows players to perform special moves without complex command inputs, as well as enhanced sound accessibility features that support gameplay experiences without relying on visual information. Through these innovations, Street Fighter 6 has positioned itself as a next-generation fighting game designed to appeal to a broad and diverse player base worldwide.

Looking ahead, Capcom will continue working to further strengthen the global competitive presence of Street Fighter 6 while contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of the international esports scene.
