Street Fighter 6 Selected as an Official Competition Title for the Esports Nations Cup, an Esports Tournament Determining the World’s Strongest Nation and Region!
Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Street Fighter 6, its competitive fighting game title, has been selected as an official competition title for the Esports Nations Cup, an esports tournament determining the world’s strongest nation and region, which will be held for the first time in Saudi Arabia in 2026.
Organized by the Esports Foundation, the Esports Nations Cup is a nation-versus-nation esports tournament in which representative teams selected from countries and regions around the world compete across 16 game titles to determine the strongest nation in the world. The tournament is planned to be held biennially, with the inaugural event scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in November 2026.
Since its release in 2023, Street Fighter 6 has surpassed 6 million units in cumulative global sales. The title introduced the Modern control type, which allows players to perform special moves without complex command inputs, as well as enhanced sound accessibility features that support gameplay experiences without relying on visual information. Through these innovations, Street Fighter 6 has positioned itself as a next-generation fighting game designed to appeal to a broad and diverse player base worldwide. Fans around the globe can look forward to the intense battles that will unfold on this world-class competitive stage.
Looking ahead, Capcom will continue working to further strengthen the global competitive presence of Street Fighter 6 while contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of the international esports scene.
