Street Fighter 6 Wins Best Fighting at The Game Awards 2023!
– Resident Evil Village VR Mode wins Best VR / AR, giving Capcom a total of two awards across two categories –

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Street Fighter 6 won Best Fighting and Resident Evil Village VR Mode won Best VR / AR at The Game Awards 2023, held in Los Angeles, California.

Now in its 10th year, The Game Awards is one of the largest award ceremonies globally and recognizes the annual achievements of video games and their creators through a blended vote by international media outlets and game fans. This year, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 was recognized as the year’s top fighting game, winning Best Fighting. The game represents a new generation of fighting games and was launched seven years after the previous title in the franchise. Sales of Street Fighter 6 surpassed 2.4 million units*1 worldwide as a result of appealing to a broad range of players, including with the introduction of the Modern Control Type, a new controller input option that allows special attacks to be performed with simple button combinations. Street Fighter 6 has been lauded for delivering the pinnacle of fighting game experiences while sporting enhanced single-player features such as World Tour Mode, an immersive story mode where solo players journey through the universe of Street Fighter.

Further, Capcom won Best VR / AR for Resident Evil Village VR Mode, which is free downloadable content that allows players to experience Resident Evil Village on PlayStation®VR2.
