Capcom Enters into Cross-Licensing Agreement for Patents Relating to Multiplayer Functionality in Mobile and Online Games, beginning with Monster Hunter Explore
– Promotes creation of more user-friendly content –

Capcom Co., Ltd. today announced that it and Colopl, Inc. have entered into a cross-licensing agreement for patents relating to multiplayer functionality in Capcom’s mobile and online games, beginning with Monster Hunter Explore.

The purpose of this agreement is to give both parties greater freedom in game development, and further promote the production of content that is both captivating and user-friendly. Additionally, through this cross licensing of multiplayer functionality, Capcom aims to leverage the patents to which it has been granted rights in games such as Monster Hunter Explore, in order to deliver even more exciting content to game players.

By continuing to explore cross-licensing opportunities while safeguarding the inventions associated with each of its titles, Capcom will contribute to improving customer experiences and a healthier game industry overall.
