Capcom Announces Its First Title For Release On the PlayStation®Vita
– “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3”
– Capcom reaffirms its “multi-platform” publishing strategy –

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce that “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3” is in development for the new PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) and will be a launch title at the console’s release.

Since its debut in 1999, the “Marvel vs. Capcom” series of fighting games has appeared on a number of hardware systems reaching a global audience. Released in 2010, “Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds” (“Marvel vs. Capcom 3”) was the first new title in the series for 11 years, generating strong sales and worldwide shipment figures of over two million units.

The new title “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3”, which is also in development for PlayStatoin 3 and Xbox 360, is based on “Marvel vs. Capcom 3” but introduces 12 new characters and adds an online “spectator mode” plus further enhancements. Furthermore, the PlayStation Vita version will feature both online and local multipayer battles via the PlayStation Vita’s Wi-Fi capability as well as touchscreen functionality. Overall, the new game has the features needed to meet the expectations of current game players as well as new ones.

Capcom has extensive activities for developing titles for next-generation games consoles. In addition to “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3”, Capcom is working on versions of other major titles like “Street Fighter X Tekken” for the PlayStation Vita.

Developing titles across multi- platforms is a core strategy for Capcom resulting in a strengthening of the “Marvel vs. Capcom” franchise, as well as other popular brands.
