Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Ships 1 Million Copies
- Lost Planet Joins Dead Rising as Capcom's Second Million-Shipping Title
on the Xbox 360™ Video Game and Entertainment System -

Capcom Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft has shipped 1 million units worldwide following its January 12 release in North America and Europe and December 21 release in Japan.

A sci-fi action shooter set against a backdrop of unforgiving arctic environments where humankind struggles for survival, Lost Planet further demonstrates Capcom’s creativity and development expertise, which have resulted in a true gaming masterpiece. Taking full advantage of Xbox 360’s unprecedented power, Lost Planet delivers an unrivalled level of detail that enhances every explosion, smoke and particle effect.

Combining different gameplay and cultural elements such as the use of the third person shooter mechanic and utilizing the likeness of Korean star Lee Byung Hun as the hero has helped make Lost Planet’s appeal truly international, garnering notice and accolades around the world.

In order to further expand its share in the fast-growing international market, Capcom has worked closely with Microsoft Corporation to pursue the development of titles geared for the North American and European markets. Prior to its release, Capcom had issued two playable demos of Lost Planet on Xbox Live® Marketplace. Available for free, these two demos have proven extremely successful with a combined total of more than one million downloads before the launch of the game. Anticipation had been building towards the Lost Planet launch as it won numerous awards such as Best Xbox 360 Game at the 2006 Leipzig Games Convention and Future Award at the 2006 Japan Game Awards.

Capcom will continue to strive to develop new and original games that appeal to a broad audience around the globe.
