TOP / INFORMATION / KEVIN EASTMAN / SIMON BISLEY / SANCTUARY RECORDS GROUP
image "Simon Bisley was born in the "green fields of England" on the 4th of March, in the year of our lord 1962.

A natural talent since birth according to his "Mum" who started to draw as soon as he could hold a crayon and didn't require paper as long as the house had walls around it.

One of Simons' first jobs was as a construction worker, of which he says, " There's nothing like digging ditches to really inspire an artist to make a go of painting for a living!" He shortly there after began working for the United Kingdom company Fleetway where he cut his"cartooning teeth" as "Steve Bisley" on a new black and white weekly series entitled, "The ABC Warriors" much to the fans delight!

After convincing the editors, and the accountants at Fleetway his name was "Simon Bisley" and wanting to really break away from the pack, he developed his own insanely fast painting style, inspired by some of his heroes such as, Richard Corben and Frank Frazetta, and went to work on a new series called "Slaine!"

The fans went crazy.

People all over the island were blown away by the style and craftsmanship of this kid, and even inspired folks like Mel Gibson to use it as specific reference for a little film he did called"BraveHeart" but Simon still had one more "local" mountain to conquer...the most popular British character since the queen, "Judge Dredd."

After accepting awards for nearly all of his above mentioned titles, he now wanted to focus his talents on some of his favorite American comicbook characters. His first efforts with DC comics "Lobo" not only brought him legions of new followers, (and more awards) and lead him to the front door of one of the greatest "trans Atlantic" cross over graphic novels of all time, "Batman VS Judge Dredd!"

The worldwide success of "Slaine" and "Dredd" led Simon the options to work on tons of other fun projects like, "The Melting Pot""BodyCount" and "Simon Coldwater" as well as designing the "Heavy Metal 2000" movie, and "Heavy Metal:Geomatrix" video game with his creative partner Kevin Eastman.

He has also continued to invade Hollywood by working with Stan Winston to design many of the main characters for "Galaxy Quest" and the upcoming "Time Machine" remake.

Today Simon continues to live in his homeland of England with his beautiful wife Karen, his lovely daughter Drue, silly son Jake, and a cat named...Lobo."
