Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced Resident Evil Village<\/em> and an all-new IP called Pragmata<\/em> for next-generation platforms PlayStation®5 computer entertainment system and Xbox Series X, as well as PC.\n<\/p>\n\n

The Resident Evil<\/em> franchise features survival horror games in which players utilize a variety of weapons and other items to escape terrifying situations. Cumulative sales of the games in the series now total 100 million units* since the first title debuted in 1996. More than 20 years later, continuous support from the passionate fan base across the globe makes it Capcom’s flagship game series.<\/p>\n\n

The new Resident Evil Village<\/em> is the sequel to Resident Evil 7 biohazard<\/em> (which has gone on to sell a cumulative 7.5 million units) and will feature a higher degree of action gameplay elements. In the game, players will take on the role of protagonist Ethan Winters as they delve into a new kind of survival horror set in a horrific village. In addition to a deeply immersive first-person perspective, the game will offer a fresh look at the world of Resident Evil<\/em> on next-generation platforms, rendered in gorgeous photorealistic visuals made possible with Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE. The game is scheduled for release in 2021.\n<\/p>\n

Pragmata<\/em> is an action adventure title that depicts a near-future dystopian world on the moon through a deeply profound story and setting. The game will take full advantage of next-generation platform features, and as Capcom’s first completely new IP made for dedicated video game consoles in four years\u2020<\/sup>, the company aims to establish Pragmata<\/em> as one of its core brands. Pragmata<\/em> is planned to be released in 2022, with more details on the game’s content and release window forthcoming.\n<\/p>\n\n
