- - Could you tell us how you go about putting together a development team?
- "Takeuchi"
Basically the same team has been continuously working on the "Lost Planet" series. However at Capcom, after a team releases a game it is usually split apart. This is because of our company's job-rotation system, in which engineers are rarely assigned to the same title. The reason Capcom uses this rotation system is to help individual engineers gain as much experience as possible by working with various different teams. - - You mean, developers bring the knowledge they’ve acquired while working with other teams and use it to develop "Lost Planet," and vice versa?
- "Takeuchi"
It’s a very important process. Capcom's emphasis on education contributes to a job separation rate much lower than other companies. Some say that to some extent employee turnover is good for a game company, but I don’t really think so. - - All the great titles the company produces must foster a sense of synergy among the in-house teams.
- "Takeuchi"
We often compete with each other to see who can make the best game. - - Flexible staff allocation and in-house competition leads to high quality games.
- "Takeuchi"
The job-rotation system keeps our in-house teams sharp. Likewise company's management doesn’t make any special requests when our teams tackle new challenges. Supervisors shouldn't force their own way of thinking upon young staff members, but rather encourage them to think of their own ideas and acquire more experience. This type of environment is important.
- - So, Capcom has established a system that brings out the most of each developer.

The most important issue for ensuring the future growth of Capcom is helping our development teams lay a foundation that enables them to realize the new vision proposed by the head of the development division. - - And finally, do you have any last words for our readers?
- "Takeuchi"
The brand-new "Lost Planet 2" will change the way people think about shooter games. It offers intense co-op battles and fully draws upon the capabilities of current consoles. I hope you’re all excited to see what we have in store for you!
